Watched: Donnie Darko 🍿

Meera had never seen it, so I made it part of our spooky season movie marathon. I watched this movie a lot during college, and I had forgotten how much I love it. Also, I had totally forgotten that its timeline is centered on Hallowe’en.

One of the weirder movies out there that’s not dissatisfying. It doesn’t give you a lot of answers, but it also doesn’t leave you frustrated when the credits roll. Highly recommended.

Also, an incredible all-star cast: Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Drew Barrymore, the incomparable Mary McDonnell, Beth Grant, Noah Wyle (!), Patrick Swayze (!!), Daveigh Chase, and Seth Rogen in his first-ever feature film.
